The Alluring Sounds Of “Bella” By FeRn

After what I thought was a remarkable 2024, I was thrilled to see what new artists or sounds I would be introduced to in 2025.

I assumed it’d take a couple of weeks until I’d find that fresh new listening experience. It only took the first day of the new year to reach that goal, being advised to peep a gifted vocalist from the Mother City, known as FeRn, who had recently dropped her three-track project, titled “Bella”.

This short but sweet Neo-Soul project brought out feelings of warmth, telling a story of voyaging through the emotions paired with being in love.

The first track, “What do you call this love?”, explored this sentiment clearly, having the songbird question her truest emotions in such a stunning manner.

I loved how the vibrant guitar notes kicked off the track, having FeRn grace the instrumental with her gorgeous voice, before the Bass and drums went off, crafting a delightful environment for the track.

To top it off, the moment when Kila G harmonized on the closing of the track was heavenly to listen to, with the two simply bouncing off each other with their wonderful singing abilities.

“Church St Bossa” was my standout track, having FeRn bless listeners with her brilliant performance over a cheery instrumental, and the chorus for the track was one that stuck with me for a long time.

Concluding the project, the track “Ciao” had the young singer tackle a mellow instrumental with elements of the Afro-Beats genre, and boy did she do well.

I loved how her performance visualized her struggle with her lover, unveiling the pain she had received from her counterpart. This was such an enjoyable close to the project and I especially loved how her voice on the chorus synchronized with the backup vocals.

I adored everything about this project, low-key giving off Cleo Sol vibes. I look forward to what more the rising singer can offer the music scene. Peep the project, available on streaming platforms.
