I can’t describe how much I’m in love with JARRY PITBOI’s sound, never failing to impress with his distinct cadence over eccentric beats that consistently impresses me.

The Capetonian lyricist recently dropped his newest EP, titled “CAN’T CHANGE”, using the tape to further push his unique sound, while also making a statement on his presence as a rapper in South Africa.

This was immediately evident as I pressed play on the opening track, titled “2 Much At Stake”, having Jarry preach over an eerie instrumental before an unexpected drop that had OYAMA GUMBI put on a show for listeners.

And let me not get started on the track, “Ny Can’t Change 4 Nobody”, which had my spine chilling with the heavy bass and 808s. What an exciting track.

Listening to “Waking Me Up” was another interesting experience. At first, I struggled to grasp the flow of the weird instrumental. However, as soon as Jarry hopped on the beat, the entire song made perfect sense and was an absolute bliss to listen to.

The cameo appearances from the features were also dope to experience. It was my first time experiencing the sounds of OYAMA GUMBI and passionpanther, and I’m definitely keeping an eye out for what they have prepared for the country to witness.

Jarry continues to prove his worth while expanding on his already impressive discography. I look forward to what else has been locked in the vault for us to hopefully experience. Check out the “CAN’T CHANGE” EP, now available on streaming platforms.
