Tembipowers has continued to elevate his status in the Hip-Hop scene, dropping countless amounts of bangers, and his latest package “Late On Arrival” is proof of that.

Consisting of only two tracks, Tembi uses both these joints to showcase his versatile abilities with the first song “Pair Of Keys” having the talented lyricist display some entertaining bars over a rousing beat with the addition of Ziggy4x also hopping on the song, showing why he’s considered next up in the Hip-Hop scene as an Afrikaans rapper.

However, it was the second track “Island Club” that was the cherry on top of the cake.

Tembi uses this song to describe the challenges he’s been facing as an artist, even telling us how his father has continually pressured him into quitting the rap game and getting what’s considered a normal job while his mother continues to support him.

He continues to talk about the other issues he has to face like his substance abuse, getting dumped by his lover because he never prioritized her, and how he still feels that he’s far from reaching his potential.

The song does take an inspirational twist of events as Tembi uses this opportunity to reflect on his struggles and to rather focus on continuing to grow as not just an artist but as a person too.

The instrumental for this track is slow and sombre, the perfect beat for what we felt was a truly emotional song for Tembi to craft, with just piano keys floating over simple hi-hats and kicks.

Both tunes are impressive representations of what Tembi is able to produce and we’re sure to look out for more work from the talented Capetonian.
