Make sure you’ve safely strapped yourself in before experiencing this wild ride of a project by the auspicious Johannesburg rapper/producer, who’s known as Brendon Tayler.

The underground Trap wave in South Africa has recently become a blooming genre, seeing a small pocket of talented minds exploring the underrated sound. If you have yet to experience why the genre is so widely adored, now’s the time to do so, with Tayler dropping his newest tape, titled “Before the Hype”.

With only a short runtime of 15 minutes, every track had us gripping our seats, with Tayler having the genius to incorporate some of the most spine-chilling tracks, using menacing beats to create an eerie atmosphere while loud 808s and kicks boomed over each record.

The song “MAGIC” was definitely our standout track, pretty much expanding on what we mentioned above about the aura of the whole project. However, we also heavily enjoyed other joints on the project like “FALLEN ANGELS” and “BACK TO BUSINESS”.

Keep an eye out for more work from the rising prospect. We trust he’s living up to the title of the project because we do believe this is all happening before the hype, and once he’s up in the game, we will fully know why that is.
