This year has been a brilliant year for the Cape Town music scene, having tons of incredible musicians providing phenomenal bodies of art for the masses to savour.

Just recently, the g Pluto Melodic was the latest to bless the country with his newest EP, titled “SAME TIME TOMORROW”, gifting listeners a four-track project filled with impressive performances and instrumentals.

Pressing play on the intro, titled “RELATIONSHIP STATUS”, we were instantly prepared for what was about to come, having an enchanting guitar strumming over the beat before Pluto hopped on the beat, telling his tale of the ups and downs within his everyday life. Pluto has this incredible gift of putting listeners in a trance with his vocal performances and this track proved just that.

“MEMORY LANE” was the following track, and this one had a more reduced tempo, with Pluto dominating the beat with his alluring voice. This was a heavy joint to listen to, with Pluto questioning a former lover about her dissatisfaction with their relationship. The track explored Pluto’s emotional state and confusion of being in a dwindling relationship while still trying to make it work. This was possibly our favourite joint on the tape, and we can’t forget Kashcpt’s impressive cameo appearance, flexing his mesmerizing singing talents.

The next track, “SATIVA LOVE”, was a blast to listen to, picking up the pace with a vibey Pop/House beat. You could tell Pluto had fun with this one, gracefully using his vocals over the bouncy instrumental. This is definitely the track for those Summer beach drives along the sunny coasts.

To close off the tape, “OUTTA YOUR MIND” had Pluto team up with the fantastic Gemma Fassie, and she is such an exceptional talent immediately blowing us away with her powerful verse. The two did a wonderful job on this joint, and it’s a shame it was such a short track as it had us begging for more.

This was a lovely listening experience provided by the superb mind of Pluto. His performance was a joy to listen to, and we appreciated how easily he gelled with his guest appearances while also doing his own thing.

The beats were also spectacular to listen to, and that makes absolute sense as they were produced by the prestigious BakerGotTheKeys, infusing elements from Hip-Hop and RnB to craft some enjoyable instrumentals that paired well with Pluto’s sound.

Check out the new tape, now available on multiple streaming platforms.
