the spontaneity of rishi

Born and raised in the Mother City, Rishi Prag is a 25 year old photograher currently completing a Master’s degree in environmental science.

The consistent themes of nature, photography and filmmaking in his life allow him to consistently evolve the way he shoots and the moments he captures

Feeling most comfortable in spaces where he can capture artists and creatives where they are fully able to express themselves, Rishi moves like a ghost, capturing moments that they didn’t even realise had happened - whether in a small bedroom or packed music festival

What began as capturing moments on film with his family and friends, has evolved into documenting the communities and musicians within the underground live music scene in Cape Town, immortalising these moments in the lore of the City

There’s a certain spark of spontaneity and wonder in the way he photographs. Each gig becomes an editorial - capturing every moment, somehow going through obstacles to get the best view.

With Rishi you get creativity, dedication, and a portal to an unperceived reality, all within a couple shots

- Jarryd Alexander, bassist for Operation Khataza
